Oyaoya~ Is this where I can find the infamous Tentacle Girl?
[Looks up from the book she’s reading]
Thought you guys should know by now that she lives in 1B-A.
Just like everyone else had, Karin had received the very same generic message concerning pain- and like most, she had snorted at the idea, casting aside the text as nothing more than a mere piece of chain mail, though a sense of unease did linger at the back of her mind— no matter how minute it was. There was, after all, more than a handful of individuals that one ought to be wary of at this academy. Powerful, with energies that bade - commanded, for some - she treated them with caution. And she did, making sure to keep her distance from those with said energies, knowing full well that she wouldn’t want to get involved in a mess any time soon.
This, however, did not seem to be foolproof method.
Even when she had sensed the approaching danger in the form of multiple, terrifying chakra signatures— it was far too late. Without a place to hide like she had once done when her own village had been under attack, Karin, like many of the residents of Iwakiri, took refuge wherever they could find. With many of the buildings in ruins, thanks to the summons and battles that took place, the redhead was white-knuckled as she gripped the trunk of a tree that she hid behind— away from the chaos. Breathing fast, her striking red eyes widened at the sight that they landed upon.
An all too familiar blond. Furious, he was readily opposing Pain.
Naruto…?! Panic washed over her features.
What is he—
Though she had not known him for long, fear gripped her heart, its grasp cold and unyielding.
A month or two? Then she definitely wasn’t new, at least by his standards. Though he couldn’t help but wonder how much she knew about this place. A part of him also wanted to know what powers she possessed, but that would have to wait for another time.
“What is it about this place that you don’t like?” he asked, his curiosity getting the better of him. “How much do you know about this place?
Aside from the fact that these new energies - and how overwhelming most of them were in comparison to most chakra-wielders’ - made her nauseous, and that she could hardly really see the point of attending school? Oh, and that the very person she admired and who literally stabbed her in the chest, thereby almost killing her, went here too? Nothing much. If she managed to set those aside, living here was a Hell of a lot more comfortable than living in a prison to look over prisoners at such a desolate location. Comfy lodging and food were provided for, there was a shopping district nearby and she would be lying if the idea of schooling didn’t pique her curiosity, no matter how slight.
Most of all, she was constantly surrounded by those with warm, sunny chakra. It put her in a good mood.
"Nothing that’d interest you, that’s for sure," Karin said shortly. "The Headmaster’s a piece of work, though. Don’t know if you’ve met him yet."
"Can’t say that I’m an expert, but go ahead and shoot if you want- I do know a couple of things. What do you wanna know? I might just answer you."
Did the redhead just say what she think she did? How would anyone not know about the Tres Espada, or even not heard about the Espada’s fraccion? Oh right, she wasn’t even dealing with a Shinigami or an Arrancar. She was dealing with something entirely different here. That explained why this woman’s spiritual energy seemed to be a little bit off. Hell, she was still confused about the other unknown underlings that were running around the campus. Well, the thought of this woman being something else didn’t tick her off when she didn’t recognize the terms. Maybe this woman was like that…guy that told her that he was a Shinobibi? Or was it, Shinobi?
“I hope you’re not talking about my name, since the name ‘Mila Rose’ is not that weird,” she frowned before explaining the Spanish terms for the confused redhead. “Tres Bestias is the Three Beasts. Tres Espada is the Third Sword, one of the third top-ranking under Aizen-sama’s Arrancar army. Fraccion is fraction or subordinate officer. Do you understand all of that or do I have to beat them into your brain?”
Even more gibberish. Sure, she could grasp the meaning of all the words that Mila Rose had put forward, but who the heck was Aizen? Whoever he was, he sounded like one big shot. And what are Arrancar? Judging from the implication that this woman was a part of the army, Karin could only assume that she was an Arrancar— that would certainly explain the different energy that they had, both Mila Rose and Karin were simply not the same. Just what was so different about the both of them, aside from the make-up of their energies, the sensor-medical nin wasn’t too sure. She supposed that she would just have to find out, either from this woman - if she was going to be more agreeable about it - or on her own— and it probably wouldn’t take too long for her to accomplish that. Karin was pretty bright.
Brain still trying to process the information that she had just been given, Karin merely bristled and gave an irritated “Tsk” at Mila Rose’s threat.
"Alright, alright. I get it."
"I don’t know who the heck Aizen is, or what Arrancar are, but I assume you’re one of his soldiers- so what are you doing here? Going from soldier to student is a huge leap."
Oh great, here came the yelling.
It was always loud with her, wasn’t it? Loud about Sasuke, loud about how much of a puddle Suigetsu was, and more. It got really annoying at times. Well, more like all the time. He couldn’t just let her talk down to him, though. He always had to yell back and keep it going.
“IT WASN’T AN INSULT, I WAS POINTING SOMETHING OUT, STUPID. LOOK IN A MIRROR ONCE IN A WHILE - MAYBE GET THOSE GLASSES FIXED BECAUSE OBVIOUSLY YOU’RE TOO BLIND TO NOT REALIZE IT. IS THERE A PROBLEM WITH ME POINTING OUT YOUR FLAWS, FIRE CROTCH? ‘CAUSE IT SEEMS TO ME YOU DO IT ALL THE TIME. GET WITH THE PROGRAM AND TAKE WHAT YOU GIVE OR JUST SHUT THE FUCK UP, PLEASE. YOU’RE GIVING EVERYONE A HEADACHE.”
And that was that. He said his peace. Naturally, Karin wasn’t going to give this up. Unless she had better things to do than to spend her time arguing with him, but, regardless. He said what he needed to say, and he could leave it at that.
"TAKE WHAT I GIVE? TAKE WHAT I GIVE?” she snapped back. Her voice rose at the second sentence. “OI, YOU WERE THE ONE WHO GREETED ME LIKE THAT, DUMBASS, WHAT’D YOU EXPECT? WHAT, DO YOU HAVE THE MEMORY RETENTION OF A LEAKY FAUCET NOW? MUST HAVE TAKEN TOO MANY HITS IN BATTLE. YOU’RE JUST ASKING TO BE STUCK IN A BLENDER NOW, I JUST— UGH. YOU ARE IMPOSSIBLE, SUIGETSU HOUZUKI, I HOPE YOU CURL UP IN A CORNER AND—”
Feeling a headache beginning to take root in her temple, Karin gritted her teeth, not liking to be the one to end their yelling match. —Tsk. Of course, it would only start up again if Suigetsu decided to say something stupid again, and Karin would undoubtedly make sure to return the favour one way or another. Glowering at him slightly, she rubbed her forehead.
She’d get him back for this later.
"Do you know where the Hell Juugo is? I can’t sense his chakra anywhere."
“It seems that you’re the one who wants to talk,” he pointed out before his face shifted to a more neutral expression. Her reiatsu was odd and, with that expression, Shuren knew that she held a fair bit of power. He also knew she wouldn’t be easily swayed; she was distrustful of him, and he wouldn’t be able to manipulate her by normal means. She was nothing more than another student in this place who wouldn’t be of use to him.
“I’ve been here for a few days, so I should think so.” His tone shifted to one of arrogance as he looked her over once more. As much as he hated to admit it, there was no getting around the fact that he was new here. Was this girl new as well?
“What about you? Are you new here?”
"True enough," Karin conceded.
She drummed her fingers against the side of her arm, her sensory skills not once letting up as she conversed with the other. Karin always found it useful to be one step ahead of people, and made sure to use her abilities as well as her intelligence to the fullest. She was not exactly one who would lay idle, especially not when his energy was anything but warm and sunny, unlike the people back at Konoha Village. Years of looking over unruly prisoners from such a young age had taught her that.
"Depends on how you see it."
"Been here about a month or two. Can’t say that I’m overly impressed with the place."

Nanao regarded the newcomers with a stern expression, though offered a soft smile nonetheless. “So many new faces,” she commented. “And many familiar ones as well. Just make sure the matters you come to me with are important, and don’t waste my time.”
Books held by her side, Karin’s nails dug slightly into the hardcover of one of the books she had recently borrowed from the library, crimson gaze regarding the dark-haired woman who had just addressed them. Another one of those residents then— geez, did all of them have such insane energy?? Though the only outward reaction to this was the slight tightening of the edges of her lips, Karin had to say it took her aback some. Theirs seemed to be ever present and spread in such a way that even those without proper sensing abilities could pick up on them.
"—Sure," she finally said.
Assuming she’d even attend the classes, of course.
"I’ll see you around then."

Eh?… I’ve seen you before… but where…
Oh yeah! You’re that girl that was on Sasuke’s team! We never really got introduced, so… hiya! I’m Uzumaki Naruto, pleased to meet’cha!
Crimson eyes widened the moment they settled the blond- she’d be lying if she said she wasn’t taken slightly off-guard. Sure, she had long known that he attended this weird ass school - she had recognized that unique, powerful chakra of his before he had entered the premises - but she did not quite expect him to greet her so readily either, regardless of how warm his energy was. She was, after all, one of Sasuke’s team mates. She wasn’t too sure how he’d take to someone who had supported Sasuke with his life-long ambition.
"Ahh… yeah," she said rather brusquely, unwilling to air any of her thoughts to him as of now.
"Name’s Karin. Nice to meet you too. Don’t you have class right now…?"
